Ricky Martin Came Out of His Shell

It is such coincidence that on my way home last night, Ricky Martins “Nobody Wants to Lonely” was playing in the jeep and I remembered an old conversation I had with a friend. My friend was a DJ in one of the radio stations in Dubai and as much as he didn’t want to play Ricky Martins songs he had to. We talked about not really liking the guy even though he had good looks and great body; we were just not into him! As I heard the song playing and thought about that conversation I ended up telling myself, “Agh! He’s GAY! Looks gay and might be gay,” and to my surprise look what I just read this morning in Yahoo! News when I was about to check my mail “Ricky Martin Comes Out”! As I read the article about him admitting he’s a homosexual, I wasn’t surprised and almost everyone knows about it. Ever since this morning, I was itching to write my reaction about him coming out of his shell but since I was in the office the entry had to wait and good thing I did! I left a tab opened in Mozilla about the article and another for his official website where he wrote and admitted his true feelings. While working the whole day, I read at one of Azraels plurk that he couldn’t find his photo with Ricky martin and he was the topic of the day in the radio which made me think about Ricky Martin more than I should have.

Numerous questions kept popping in my mind, “Why on earth did he let this out in the open?” “Is it because he wanted attention since he’s been silent for all these years?” “Did he want more publicity so that everyone would check out his new project?” Then, I remembered the movie “Valentine’s Day”, there was this scene that the famous football player admits he’s gay and he was all over the news. It also made me recall J. P. Calderon when he fully admits that he’s gay when he had an offer to be the cover model of Instinct Magazine (America's #1 Gay Magazine) in “The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency” and everyone he knew accepted him.

It has been a long day and it’s time that I should remove the thoughts about Ricky Martin and this is what I have to say. I don’t mind if the guy is a homosexual and years ago a lot of people were discriminating homosexuals. People didn’t like the thought of having a third gender back then, they would outcast gay or lesbian folks, talk about and for celebrities it would be really ruin their career. There is still some discrimination until today but people change and are more open to change than before. More homosexuals are out in the open and free to speak their mind which is a good thing. We are all human beings and we should accept people for who they are. I don’t have any grudge or inklings with homosexuals; it’s the negative treatment that other people give them that I really hate. If a person admits their true gender or feelings, deal with it, accept it, be open with it and don’t judge them like you’re all perfect.

Ricky Martin wrote “Today is my day, this is my time, and this is my moment,” I would have to agree that you really made your moment when you came out of the closet. Welcome to the open world! :P

Megamall Incident - Every Woman Should Be Aware

I was just checking my Facebook and I saw this note that was shared by a friend. At first, I thought it was one of those inspiring or dramatic stories and to my surprise it was actually a precautionary! I was really speechless after reading this, I'm not really sure if it's real or not but its best to share it to everyone and learn from it.

About a month ago there was a woman standing by the Mega Mall entrance passing out fliers to all the women going in. The woman had written the flier herself to tell about an experience she had, so that she might warn other women.

The previous day, this woman had finished shopping, went out to her car and discovered that she had a flat. She got the jack out of the trunk and began to change the flat. A nice man dressed in business suit and carrying a briefcase walked up to her and said, "I notice you're changing a flat tire.
Would you like me to take care of it for you?"

The woman was grateful for his offer and accepted his help. They chatted amiably while the man changed the flat, and then put the flat tire and the jack in the trunk, shut it and dusted his hands off.

The woman thanked him profusely, and as she was about to get in her car, the man told her that he left his car around on the other side of the mall, and asked if she would mind giving him a lift to his car.

She was a little surprised and asked him why his car was on other side.

He explained that he had seen an old friend in the mall that he hadn't seen for some time and they had a bite to eat and visited for a while; he got turned around in the mall and left through the wrong exit, and now he was running late and his car was clear around on the other side of the mall.

The woman hated to tell him "no" because he had just rescued her from having to change her flat tire all by herself, but she felt uneasy. Then she remembered seeing the man put his briefcase in her trunk before shutting it and before he asked her for a ride to his car.

She told him that she'd be happy to drive him to his car, but she just remembered one last thing she needed to buy. She said she would only be few minutes; he could sit down in her car and wait for her; she would be as quick as she could be. She hurried into the mall, and told a security guard what had happened; the guard came out to her car with her, but the man had left. They opened the trunk, took out his locked briefcase and took it down to the police station. The police opened it (ostensibly to look for ID so they could return it to the man). What they found was rope, duct tape and knives.

When the police checked her "flat" tire, there was nothing wrong with it; the air had simply been let out. It was obvious what the man's motive was, and obvious that he had carefully thought it out in advance. The woman was blessed to have escaped harm.

How much worse it would have been had she waited in the car while the man fixed the tire, or if she had a baby strapped into a car seat. Or if she'd gone against her judgment and given him a lift.

I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life.

A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only; but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it on to them, as well.

Vodka Night

Ever since I was kid, my parents would always throw me huge parties. I remembered my 12th and 13th birthday; I only invited a handful of friends since I got tired of numerous friends being invited. I have to admit that throwing an enormous party is fun but it’s also tiring. There’s a lot of preparation with the food, drinks, cleaning, invitations, etc. After my 13th birthday I could only remember a couple of birthday parties that I threw, there was the one when I turned 14 and my debut. The following birthdays were just close friends, my family and close relatives.

I just turned 25 and I realized that I’m not getting any younger and it has been a while since I last organized my own birthday bash! With a small budget I’m still pushing through and thanks to a dear friend we had everything finalized. A couple of my relatives commented that it seems it’s going to be a grand party. “Are you planning on a second debut?” I told them that it’s not going to be that huge and it’s been a while since I last had a party.

One of the main reasons that I’m throwing this party is because I’m treating it as my very own gift to myself! After being in two long toxic relationships I decided to be single and I love it. I have been celebrating my birthdays with my ex and close loved ones that I didn’t get the chance to celebrate it with my other friends. I’m treating my 25th birthday party as a reunion to all my friends that I haven’t seen in years, months and weeks.

I want this party to be huge, fun and exciting. It really is a big treat for me; I’m celebrating my birthday for these reasons, get together with old friends, being single and loving it!

Picking Up My Pieces

As I stare at the screen and try to type my mind goes of wondering what to write first. Should I write a brief introduction about myself and what this blog is about? Should I start writing with my favorite line, "its been ages since my recent entry"? Or should I just starting writing reviews about food, products and events that I liked? Should I also write about my complaints and rants on events and things? These are the times that I cant help my mind stop and slow down. Its like, I want to write everything while I'm the mood of writing. There's this sudden rush that I don't want to be bothered and just sit in front of a computer and start writing.

I have been blogging for years and all my entries are scattered and some are just re-posted. I started from Blogger, Xanga, Live Journal, Friendster, Multiply and now I have Wordpress and Blogger again! I really miss and love blogging but I always get distracted or my time management is not that well manged. I've opened 3 account for blogging and I've already started working on the first and this, I still haven't thought of what to do with the third one or if I'm just going to use 2 accounts. I might and I mean, I MIGHT re-post my old entries here since I'd like to see all my writing in an organized manner.

I still don't know what to write after this, I may list down all the things that I'll be writing and just check them one by one after I'm done with one entry. Keep in tough with all of my pieces to come :)
