Growing up in the Middle East made me love eating different kinds of food and this is one of my favorite breads.

You may wonder what it is, it’s called za’atar bread. Za’atar bread is pita bread with olive oil and za’atar seasoning. Za’atar is a Middle Eastern herb which has oregano, basil thyme, thyme and savory; they also add dried sumac, sesame seeds and other spices to make the seasoning for the bread.

I’m fond of food that has a tangy taste and this bread is the tangiest of all the breads I have eaten and it also has a salty taste. So far, there’s only one restaurant that sells it and that's Al Batra Restaurant & Coffee Shop. They are selling it for Php 100 apiece.

If you’re into Arab food and into bread as well, you can visit Al Batra Restaurant & Coffee Shop at 2/F Constellation Street corner Makati Avenue, Its right above 7-Eleven and Pan de Manila.
